Abstract

 Talking about Islamic law, we will be faced with a very broad study and scope. However, to understand Islamic law there are several things that are quite basic to be examined, one of which is the characteristics of Islamic law. One of the characteristics of Islamic law is that Islamic law has sacredness because it comes directly from Allah SWT. In the golden age of the Islamic world, the tradition of Islamic legal thought presents a very interesting historical picture, where the opinions of Muslim scholars or intellectuals on a particular issue are built on the basis of the ijtihad paradigm, as well as a framework of thought that is very much in line with the breath of Islam. This indicates that Islam highly values ijtihad as a process of deep thinking (badzl al-juhd) that gives birth to important ideas in the field of science. The principles of Islamic law include: Syumuliyah al-zaman, sumuliyah al-makan, and sumuliyah al-insanprinisp Islamic law.
